Order a set of pediatric electrode pads for the Philips HeartStart FR2 and FR2+ automated external defibrillators. More than 7,000 children every year experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the United States. An AED with pediatric pads can help prevent an emergency from turning into a tragedy.
Why Purchase Philips FR2 Infant/Child Pads?
Pediatric pads are recommended for use on all children and infants under 8 years old and under 55 pounds. Children this small require less shock delivered to the heart. Standard electrode pads deliver a dose of 150 joules of electricity to start with. These FR2 pediatric pads reduce the dosage to just 50 joules, which is much safer for small, developing hearts.
About These Philips HeartStart FR2/FR2+ Pediatric Pads
These pediatric pads have a shelf life of 2 years. It’s always a good idea to keep an extra replacement set on hand for emergencies.
Each pad is clearly labeled for child use, so there’s no risk that these pads will be mistaken for adult pads in an emergency.
The 48-inch lead wire ensures that there’s always ample length for safe use and clearance in an emergency.
These pads can be stored at temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to 109 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please note that these pads are not compatible with the Philips ForeRunner (FR/FR1) series of AEDs.
How to Use These Infant/Child Pads
- Expose the child’s bare chest and ensure that the skin is dry.
- Remove the pads from their main packaging.
- Turn on your FR2 or FR2+ AED.
- Peel the backing from each pad and place it against the child’s bare skin according to the visual diagram—one at the center of the chest, and one at the center of the back.
- Plug the pads into the AED and follow all audible instructions.
