76-year-old Julius Schillinger collapsed after completing the 1-mile Dash for Dance 5K and Boogie Woogie Fun Run in Petaluma (he has completed over 1,200 races in his life). He was revived after receiving 23 minutes of chest compressions from a cardiac nurse Vanessa Cummings and two other bystanders and was transferred to Santa Rosa Memorial for further care. Schillinger now has clearance to run again in a limited fashion and already has a few races planned for August 2023.
